T.G.I.F. I Think.

20 February 2009

This is shaping up to be a very long day. Todd is working from work today (which tends to frustrate Adam because he misses having breakfast and lunch together) and then has a work commitment this evening and won’t be home till Adam is fast asleep tonight. At least, I hope Adam will be fast asleep by that point, or I may pull out all my hair.

This morning Adam decided that life is apparently no longer worth living if he can’t play the drums which has resulted in a rather elaborate drum kit being constructed of various drum-like options and using two plastic forks as his drumsticks. He has some degree of rhythm, which is good, but is very loud and would happily play for hours, which is not so good. At least for my ears. And my sanity.

Thankfully our afternoon “quiet time” has allowed for a brief respite so I managed to finish the cuffs on a pair of socks.

Spring Forward Socks

This is Halcyon, the January colourway from Three Irish Girls’ sock club. The yarn is Beckon Merino, which has a lovely stretch to it and was perfect for the Spring Forward socks. The pattern is rather obscured by the yarn, but I couldn’t come up with another pattern that would show off the yarn better, so there you go.

Binding Off the Ruffles

I’m now in the process of binding off the 600 stitches of my second Just Enough Ruffles scarf. Wow, is this ever slow going. For reasons unknown, my right hand keeps cramping up as I’ve been knitting this scarf so it’s taken a lot longer than I’d expected. Hopefully I’ll get it off the needles and around my neck later today.

In the meantime, it appears that quiet time has drawn to a close, and Adam is now playing floor hockey. I need to go cheer him on as he shoots the puck down the hallway.
